This is the extremely rare variant of quite a rare book. The very heavily illustrated historical hard cover book ,,Vom 30. Januar zum 21. März’’ (From 30 January to 21 March) measures 11 x 12 -1/2 inches and contains 152 pages. The dark blue cover in beautifully embossed in red, white and black with eagle and swastika, and has the name applied in big letters in gold blocking. ,,Vom 30. Januar zum 21. März’’ tells the story of the period between Nazi election victories in January and Hitler addressing the Reichstag in Potsdam as Germany’s 23rd Chancellor near the end of March 1933.

The book documents the amazing Nazi triumph at the polls in Germany and was made available in two versions:
1) the book alone, and
2) the book with a special pouch inside the back cover containing two double-sided phonograph records of Chancellor Adolf Hitler’s address to the national leadership on 31 January 1933.

THIS IS the second version WITH THE RECORDS. The records are in excellent condition, as is the book.

The subtitle of this book is ,,Die Tage der nationalen Erhebung’’ or “The Days of the Assumption of National Power” in the parlance of the Nazis. Written by Erich Czech-Jochberg and published by Verlag Das neue Deutschland in Leipzig in 1933, the book carefully explains how the NSDAP gained all the power in Germany in a few carefully run elections, power they had been unable to gain earlier in armed revolt. It tells how political alliances (coalitions) between the Nazis and smaller parties allowed Hitler to govern virtually by decree.

The two original Schellack-Schallplatten or phonograph records packaged with this book provide a sense of history that can not be gotten from the text and the 120 pictures in it alone. They contain an excellent recording of Hitler’s actual radio broadcast speech ,,Aufruf an das deutsche Volk’’ or “An Appeal to the German Nation’’ of 31 January 1933. This rare book is in very good condition and we doubt that the records have ever been played.
