Oeffentlicher Fernsprecher III. Reich Emailschild
Public phone Nazi Party Days Nuremberg

This is a wonderful 13-3/4 x 13-3/4 inch (35 x 35 cm) two-color vitreous enamel on steel public phone booth sign just like the one shown in the photograph right taken at the Nazi Reichsparteitag in Nürnberg in the mid 1930s. We recently found this unissued new-old-stock example not far from Dresden, Germany. It has laid unused for decades until we spotted it.

Besides the Nazi era pictures we are showing above and left we know of one other identical Third Reich sign still in existence: it is in the old Führerbau (Hitler's office) on the Königsplatz in München (Munich) badly defaced by students, and one of these days it will be thrown out. Public phones are no longer necessary in the days of cell phones.

The front side is white with red graphics and lettering and the back side is the customary black color used on the backs of all old German Emailschilder or enamel signs. THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION! If you need a nice old piece for a museum or a wall decoration, it would be hard to beat this!
