A RARE THIRD REICH BOOK EXPLAINING THE NAZI LAW FOR THE

Just 5-½ months in power, the government of Nazi Germany passed a law on 14 July 1933 called the Gesetz zur Verhütung erbkranken Nachwuchses or the “Law for the Prevention of Offspring with Hereditary Diseases”. It was officially published in the 25 July 1933 issue of the Reichsgesetzblatt, page 529.

Gesetz zur Verhütung erbkranken Nachwuchses - Gesetz und Erläuterungen was published for medical professionals by J.F. Lehmanns Verlag of München in 1934. The contributors were medical doctors Dr. Arthur Gütt, Dr. Ernst Rüdin, Professor Dr. Erich Lerer and Professor Dr. Albert Döderlein. Doctor of Law Falk Ruttke was the legal contributor of the Ministry of the Interior where he worked in the Public Health Department. Gütt, Rüdin and Ruttke were dominant figures in the eugenics movement of Nazi Germany.
Quite naturally, because of the controversial subject matter of this Third Reich book, examples were sought out by Allied de-Nazification personnel in Germany at the end of World War II, and destroyed. This rare 89 year old example of Gesetz zur Verhütung erbkranken Nachwuchses is in very nice, used condition with a tight spine and no odor.
