On one end, above the swastika in a 4-¼ inch round white circle, the silver lettering says “for our dear member as a last greeting”. The other end of the funeral wreath sash has the logo of the NSKOV (Nationalsozialistische Kriegsopferversorgung or National Socialist War Victim Care Association) and above it the name of the NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis, also in silver embossed lettering.

St. Johannis is a section of northwest downtown Nürnberg, the City of Nazi Party Days in Julius Streicher’s Gau Franken. This rare original unused funeral wreath sash was “liberated” by an American working for the US Army in the building that was once the office of the Kassenleiter, the Treasurer of the NSDAP Ortsgruppe St. Johannis.

The colors of this rare unused 3. Reich Kranzschleife are bright and the condition is very good - none of the fringe is missing, the sewing of the two circles is complete, and the silver lettering is completely readable. This rare sash has been expertly repaired in two places, but the repairs do not detract from its general appearance in a display.

This is a wonderful 100% original Third Reich Kranzschleife or funeral wreath sash measuring about 6 inches wide by 91 inches long. The piece is constructed of specially made embossed red paper with a grosgrain ribbon pattern on both sides. Sewed to each end is a 2 inch shiny white colored fringe.
