USM book #307
|
This is a nice used example of Der Weg zum deutschen Journalismus (The Road to German Journalism) by Helmut Sündermann, a 36-page illustrated informational booklet for people who wished to study journalism in Nazi Germany, in anticipation of obtaining a job in the field. It was published by Zentralverlag der NSDAP (the Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party) Franz Eher Nachfolger in 1938 and contains a Foreword by National Socialist Pressechef Dr. Dietrich.
This example of Der Weg zum deutschen Journalismus was once a part of the library of the Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda (the State Ministry for National Community Clarification and Publicity on Wilhelmplatz 8/9 in Berlin). Their catalog number B1211(K) is on a sticker on the lower left corner of the front cover of this book and it is also handwritten under the library stamp on the back side of the title page.
This book contains photos of Adolf Hitler (“Not a day goes by that the Führer does not participate in the work of the press”), a bust of Dietrich Eckart (“The First Journalist of the Nazi Movement”), a full-page picture of Nazi Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels and his role in the shaping of the Nazi Party and National Socialist movement, and the perception of it around the world.
Shown right are the different stages of journalism studies, and this booklet also contains a list of NSDAP Gaupresse Offices all over Germany where more information can be obtained about journalism studies in Nazi Germany.
A rare insight into the remarkable system used by te Nazis to prepare people for a career in journalism! Rare, complete and in very good used condition.
There are also full-page photos of Nazi Reichsleiter Amman, the Head of the Reichspressekammer and Reichsleiter Alfred Rosenberg, who for years was the publisher of the Völkischer Beobachter newspaper.
There is information for any potential journalism student about the role and responsibility of a [National Socialist] journalist, the potential service of journalists to the Nazi Party, the role of Nazi newspapers played in the rise to power of the NSDAP, etc.
