1938 NAZI MAP OF DAS GROSSDEUTSCHE REICH
This map is a splendid 25 x 28 inch multi-colored map of Das Grossdeutsche Reich or the Greater German State of Adolf Hitler from 1938. The Freytag & Berndt Karte depicts all of East Prussia, western Poland, Bohemia, Moravia, Alsace-Lorraine, Luxemburg. This maps shows all of central and eastern Europe from Minsk to Transylvania and from Lyon, France to Amsterdam, Copenhagen to Memel. The map perfectly depicts central Europe at a scale of 1=2,000,000, so that 2 inches is only about 65 miles.
The map was printed after Germany was reunified with Austria in April 1938 but before the Sudetenland was returned to Germany in the fall of 1938.
ALL names for towns, cities and provinces are shown in their German spelling. That feature is invaluable when dealing with German military documents like Soldbücher or when studying the World War II campaigns in books or on the internet. A rare map, complete and in very nice used condtion.
