This is a very nice example of the 6-1/4 x 24 inch, 4-fold, 2-sided Navy study card similar to those used to teach Wehrmacht soldiers about weapons like the k98 rifle, MP40 submachine gun, etc. This Marinetafel 8/9 on the subjects of Schiffstypen or Types of Ships.
With descriptive sketches and illustrations, the card starts with the Nazi battleship Gneisenau built in 1936, the Admiral Scheer, the heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper built in 1937 and includes U-Boats, Schnellboote, school ships, U-Boot tenders, etc. It also includes non-military ships like the KdF ship Robert Ley, the passenger ship Deutschland, freight ships, tankers, aircraft ships, fishing ships, tugs, customs boats and ten different sailing ships.
An excellent card for anyone with an interest in the Nazi Navy! Very good condition.
