This is a very nice example of the rare Merkbuch für den Zahlmeister des Feldheeres by Dr. Hans-Georg Thoß, Oberfeldintendant im Oberkommando des Heeres as published by Wehrmacht-Presse-Verlag Reif & Co. in Berlin in 1943. This book was used at the Heeresverwaltungsschule in München as a text book to train paymasters for the field army of the German Wehrmacht.
Naturally, because of its subject matter there are no illustrations, but the minutia contained within it is absolutely fascinating to anyone even remotely interested in the subject. At the back of the book is a fold-out chart detailing the pay rates for soldiers from a common Landser to a General and supplemental pay for service in occupied lands from Finland to Greece. There are also fold-out forms for use by paymasters.
