This is one of the largest Nazi Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF or German Labor Front) industrial award plaques we have ever encountered. The wooden portion of the plaque measures 11 x 15-7/8 inches and the upper metal portion measures about 7 x 10-1/4 inches (17-1/2 x 26 cm).
The large metal plaque features a Müller-Erfurt design of a laborer, an engineer and a farmer above the cogged wheel and swastika of the DAF.
Below the cogged wheel and swastika is the Adolf Hitler quotation Ehret die Arbeit und achtet den Arbeiter which translates roughly as "Honor Labor and Esteem the Worker." The small metal plaque at the bottom contains the words Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer (One Nation, One State, One Leader). The large metal part of the plaque is marked with the name of the well-known maker, Paulmann & Crone of Lüdenscheid (RZM M9/60).
There is a standard folding hanger attached to the top of the back. Very large and in nice used condition.
