This is a very nice reprint of the rare German language Ausbildungs-Vorschrift für die Politischen Leiter der NSDAP Ausbildung mit der Pistole or Instructional Regulations for the Political Leaders of the Nazi Party Regarding the Pistol as provided to Political Leaders of the NSDAP and as published when Adolf Hitler issued the order that allowed Political Leaders to carry a weapon. The pistol involved in Hitler's order and the subject of this book is the Walther PPK automatic.

Just like the ultra-rare original manual, this 3-¾ x 5 inch, 72-page softcover book has bright red covers and begins with Dr. Robert Ley's explanation of Hitler's decision to allow Political Leaders to carry a pistol as an Ehrenwaffen or Honor Weapon, as a part of their uniform. The 14 chapters in the book deal with subjects as varied as the Pistol and Service Uniform, Practical Handling and Use of the Political Leader Pistol, Stipulations Regarding the Wear of the Pistol, General Information about the Political Leader Pistol, Parts of the Political Leader Pistol, Care and Cleaning the Pistol, Setting Up a Target Box, Target Practice on the Shooting Stand, Shooting Scores, etc.

The pocket-sized book contains pictures of the pistol and all its parts, a numbered cutaway of the pistol, an illustration showing how to load the magazine and several illustrations explaining how to take it apart and reassemble it.   There are a series of drawings showing how to sights and how not to sight the pistol. There is a picture of the cleaning kit and its components, a 10-ring target in human form and a lighted target shooting stand or box.

While there were certainly plenty of Political Leaders in the NSDAP during the Third Reich and while a great many of them carried a pistol, this manual is obscure at best. It is difficult to find in any condition and this accurate reprint is complete and on good quality modern paper. The only original examples we have been able to locate on the internet are those in large national libraries. Few collectors have ever seen an original of this Nazi book.
