This is a special heavily illustrated Third Reich book on the specific subject of melding the natural laws of survival of the fittest and modern technical knowledge in order to create more beautiful, talented and genetically superior human beings. It is a second edition of Zucht und Sitte Schriften - die Neuordnung Unserer Lebensgesetze (Race and Tradition - Texts on the New Order of Our Laws of Life) as published by Verlag Zucht und Sitte in Reichsbauernstadt Goslar, Germany in 1942.
The 7-3/4 x 11 inch, 116 page very heavily illustrated soft cover book starts with a beautifully set tablet containing the words of Reichsminister Walther Darré’s 1933 statement about the racial desirability of German peasant stock facing a page with the famous Professor Koppitz photo Bauernmädel (Peasant Girl), showing the subject in swimming attire with her arms uplifted. (right)
That peasant stock is described in the book as the wellspring of the German Nation and the power behind German Blood.
A chapter explains how being a soldier is the ultimate racial test. Another explains the relationship between belief and beauty, and the transformation of plainness into splendor.
Other chapters focus on motherhood, eternal laws, the community of the living and the dead, the worship of ancestors as in Japan, tracing ancestry, racial features, fingerprints, blood and race, etc.
This is not a book filled with photos of eagles and swastikas, but rather a book that approaches the subject of racial superiority from a truly “Nazi” perspective.
This 1942 example of Zucht und Sitte comes with the rare original dust jacket (good condition) and the book itself is in like-new, unread condition.
