The Third Reich documents for sale on this USMBOOKS web page were all issued to a young citizen of Nazi Germany, Magdalene Weller. She was born 15 April 1923 in Salchendorf b.N., a small mining town in North Rhine-Westphalia that is now part of the city of Neunkirchen. This grouping includes three documents issued to Magdalene Weller by the Industrie- und Handelskammer (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) of Siegen - Olpe - Dillenburg, a DAF certificate and a portrait photo.

There is a nice 4-1/2 x 6 inch green linen hardcover Kaufmannsgehilfenbrief or accreditation certificate issued on 24 March 1942 stating that 18 year old Magdalene Weller had satisfactorily completed her time as an apprentice at the Freier Grunder Eisen- und Metallwerke GmbH (Iron & Metalwork Factory). There is also a 8-¼ x 11-5/8 Zeugnis or Certificate dated 24 March 1942 showing Weller completed her work as an apprentice in the office of that company in Salchendorf (that employed foreign slave labor during World War II).

Also included in this document lot is an official Bescheinigung or Certificate dated 21 November 1942 (shown left), proof that she successfully completed a stenography course - 120 syllables per minute!

The only document in this lot NOT issued by the Industrie- und Handelskammer Siegen - Olpe - Dillenburg is dated 22 June 1942 (shown right). It is a 8-¼ x 11-5/8 inch Certificate from the Deutsche Arbeitsfront Gau Westfalen-Süd showing 19 year old Weller successfully completed a 40-hour DAF course on bookkeeping.

With these original Third Reich documents is a photo of a pretty, smiling Magdalene Weller, wearing a sailor inspired outfit. On the back of the 3-½ x 5-½ inch photo portrait she wrote, "Think of Me, Like I Think of You, Your Little Bride." Unfortunately there is no date written on the back so we do not know how long after Magdalene Weller completed her business studies she was married, but we suspect it was not very long.
