This is a splendid original 1-1/4 x 4-1/4 x 9-1/4 inch wooden cigar box that once held 25 ,,Neues Reich’’ cigars. The box is complete but the lid is detached and only a portion of the original Third Reich German tax stamp remains near the left end of the front of the box.

There is no doubt that this piece dates from quite early in the career of Germany’s 23rd Chancellor, Adolf Hitler.

In 1934 Hitler personally ordered an end to the use of party symbols on most commercial products. That fact coupled with the wanton Allied destruction of anything with a swastika on it after World War II ended, makes items like this very, very rare.
