This is a marvelous and important reference book for anyone with an interest in the Luftwaffe, the Nationalsozialistische Flieger Korps (NSFK or National Socialist Flying Corps), aviation facilities, military aircraft, race planes, or any other aspect of aircraft or aviation in Germany during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler.

The 6 x 8-1/2 inch, 214 page, very, very heavily illustrated hardcover book WÖRTERBUCH DES FLUGWESENS was written by Karl Anders, Dr. Hans Eichelbaum of the Reichsluftfahrtministerium and Hauptmann der Luftwaffe Eduard Delius and published in 1942 by Quelle & Meyer in Leipzig, Germany.

In the style of any good dictionary, this book lists and explains in detail approximately 1500 aviation items from Tempelhof Air Field in Berlin to Luftwaffe insignia of rank. Hundreds of the topics are explained with meticulous line-drawings and sharp, clear photographs (over 480).

There are photographs of all styles of aircraft, from Zeppelins, to the latest Messerschmitt Me109 fighter plane. Various insignia and flags of the Luftwaffe and rank insignia of the troops are illustrated, as are the innermost workings of aircraft instruments, air-to-air communications, flight controls, etc. There are pictures of the aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin, the helicopter Focke 61, diagrams of flying formations, history of important people (such as Hermann Göring) and information about Fallschirmjäger or paratroopers.

In the back of the book are a few pages of avaition related advertising from companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Siemens and Henschel. The automotive version of this book, Wörternbuch der Kraftfahrt, is also advertised.

Very, very comprehensive information in an attractive format. This book is complete and the inside pages are in very good condition. The cover shows some wear.
