Each of the 3 x 4-3/4 inch cards in this set shows a picture of a Third Reich race car as well its builder or driver along with the data on the other cards in the same suit and information about the driver or car builder. Car drivers include Rudolf Caracciola, Manfred von Brauschitz, Hermann Lang, Hans Stuck, Christian Kautz, Rudolf Hasse, Tazio Nuvolari, Luigi Fagioli, Achille Varzi, Raimond Sommer, all racers who drove for Mercedes, Auto Union, Alfa Romeo, or lost to them. Car builders include Dr. Carl Benz, Gottlieb Daimler, Dr. Ing. h.c. Ferdinand Porsche and Max Sailer.
The picture on the cover of the box shows a Mercedes-Benz race car leading all others on a race course somewhere in Germany beneath a Nazi swastika flag. The swastika has been scratched off the Nazi flag and the box is a little beat-up (there is some scotch tape on the inside) but the cards themselves appear to be brand new - never used. The original game rules are still there too.
Wonderful Third Reich auto racing material! Very rare.

This is a nice example of the popular Third Reich Hausser Quartettspiel or Rummy-type card game called RENNEN - RENNFAHRER - REKORDE (Racing - Racecar Drivers - Racing Records). The 24 cards in the 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch box, 1-1/4 inches thick, are divided into 6 sets of four each making it easy to play a variety of card games with different numbers of players. Quartet card games were very popular with soldiers as well as with the civilian population of the Germany of Adolf Hitler.
