Nazi Deutschland Erwache Standarte
Julius Streicher
Hitler eagle design
Recently purchased in Germany, this is an excellent example of the extremely rare Raumbild-Verlag Otto Schönstein book, München - Die Hauptstadt der Bewegung (Munich, The Capital of the Nazi Movement) with photographs by Heinrich Hoffmann Reichsbilderberichterstatter der NSDAP and text by Hans Thoma and Oscar Aschenbach. This 64-page (+ 8 pages of 3D photos), 8 x 11-3/4 inch hardcover book was Volume 3 in the series, as published in Diessen am Ammersee in 1937 by Raumbild-Verlag.
Feldherrnhalle
SS guard at Feldherrnhalle
Raumbild Verlag (Three Dimensional Picture Publishers) books are unique in that they contain photographic stereo-view cards and a fold-up metal optical device with which the cards can be viewed. If you are not familiar with this Nazi three-dimensional book, you need to know that it consists of a well-written text by Hans Thoma and Oscar Aschenbach on the subject of the city of Munich, The Capital of the Nazi Movement, and significant nearby sights. There are twenty-two 3D photos interspersed on black pages throughout the text, and the text and captions are written in the German language.
Sterneckerbräu, Tal 54 Muenchen
Hoheitszeichen
3. Reich Ehrentempel
The special covers of this album are about 1/2-inch thick and are die-cut with cavities that hold the 100 special 3-D stereo photographs (real photographs - NOT halftone prints) and the metal viewer with glass lenses that is set up to view the photographs. The 100 stereo photos each measure 2-3/8 x 5 inches and have a full description of the subject printed on the back in German. When seen in the viewer each picture is incredibly three-dimensional, almost as if the scene was being viewed in real life.
Das Braune Haus
Hitler Apartment
Following statements by Gauleiter Adolf Wagner and Munich Mayor Karl Fiehler, the photos in this rare Raumbild album contain sharply focused images of the most important historical venues and objects in the most important city connected to the origins and history of the Nazi Movement in Germany.
Those images include the house in which Adolf Hitler lived before joining the German Army, the Fürstenfelder Hof where the Nazi Party was founded, the Sterneckerbräu beer hall, the Lilienbad (one of the early meeting places of the members of the Nazi Party), the office of the Party at Schellingstrasse 40, the Hofbrauhaus, the Café Neumayer on the Viktualienmarkt where an unknown Hitler often spoke, Hitler's drawings for a Nazi helmet eagle, the first Nazi Standarte of the Party in the workshop of master goldsmith Otto Gahr, the "guestbook" from Stadelheim Prison with Hitler's signature, Hitler's cell at Stadelheim Prison, Nazi meetings in Circus Krone, the Bürgerbräukeller, the Feldherrnhalle, the Braune Haus, the Hall of Flags, Hitler's office and the Senator Hall (below) in the Braunes Haus, the Führerbau, Hitler's cell in Landsberg Prison, the House of German Art, the Hofgarten, Haus Wachenfeld on the Obersalzberg, the NSDAP Publishing House, the airport at München-Oberwiesenfeld, the Ehrentempel on the Königsplatz, Hitler with the widows of the martyrs of 9 November 1923, the Father J.M. Rehse Collection documenting the history of the NSDAP, the Main Archives of the NSDAP, etc., etc., etc.
