A SPLENDID VARIETY OF NAZI ERA GERMAN POSTCARDS (ANSICHTSKARTEN OR AK) FEATURING THE REICHSAUTOBAHN

The card lots that follow are all related to the Reichsautobahn - the super highways of the Führer and the world’s first practical freeway system. All are very difficult to find, some are unique. All are absolutely original to the Third Reich period - NONE ARE REPRODUCTIONS. Always check in advance of making payment for availability by lot number, as most items are one-of-a-kind and they do sell quickly.

Lot #RA11 - (left) a wonderfully rare unused 105 x 148 mm full-color printed postcard showing a landscape near Frankfurt (Oder) with the Reichsautobahn crossing it. Using a painting by Reinhold Gragert, the Ansichstkarte was published by the Advertising Department of the Tourist Office of Mark Brandenburg in Berlin.

Lot #RA21 - (left) a rare unused 105 x 148 mm full-color printed postcard showing the Führerzimmer in the Autobahn rest stop on the Chiemsee between München and Salzburg. This was Adolf Hitler's room, where he could have meetings or spend time in peace while on his way from Munich to Berchtesgaden. The Führerzimmer was never open to the public.

This Nazi postcard was produced by Fotoverlag Keetman & Stampfl, located in the small town of Prien on Chiem Lake. It was never mailed and has a blank back.

In like-new condition, 100% original to the Third Reich period. $44.00 delivered worldwide.

Deutsches Reich Hindenburg postage stamp

Lot #RA94 - (above) an excellent 88 x 139 mm sepia toned photographic postcard showing a gas station near the Bavarian city of Rosenheim (birthplace of Hermann Göring) on the Reichsautobahn from München to Austrian border. Next to the green Deutsches Reich Hindenburg postage stamp on the back is a rubber stamp proclaiming it is a national duty to become a member of the Reichsluftschutzbund.

Lot #RA87 - (left) a wonderful unused 105 x 148 mm full-color printed Postkarte showing the C.Th. Protzen painting of the construction of the freeway bridge over the Donau river at Leipheim. This card is from the series Die Straßen Adolf Hitlers and was printed by the company Dr.C. Wolf & Sohn in Munich.

This Nazi era Reichsautobahn Ansichtskarte was never mailed an is in very good, near-new condition. $44.00 delivered worldwide.

Lot #RA90 - (above) a very nice 90 x 140 mm sepia toned photographic postcard showing the Reichsautobahnlager Kirchheim, the barracks housing the Autobahn workmen. This Nazi postcard was published by Verlag Dietz & Reichert in Bad Salzschlirf and has a cancelation dated 19 October 1938 over two Hindenburg postage stamps.
