STEEL PADLOCK WITH KEY
This is an absolutely authentic large steel padlock and key of the kind used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler to secure their facilities and the freight cars of their trains.
The lock measures about 3 inches across and is about 4-1/4 inches tall. The letters DR for Deutsche Reichsbahn (German Railways) are stamped into the front of the lock just above the pivoting cover for the key hole.

PLEASE NOTE: since World War II the German railroads have been called Deutsche Bundesbahn which is ONLY abbreviated DB on all of their property. The lock we offer here is a Third Reich Nazi lock, not a modern piece.
The pivoting shackle of the lock is about 3/8 inch in diameter and has to be locked and unlocked with the key. The backside of the lock is stamped MADE IN GERMANY because the company that made it for the Deutsche Reichsbahn also made locks for export to foreign countries. That marking practice was common in Third Reich Germany on export articles ranging from ceramic tile to certain kinds of guns. This lock works perfectly and is in very good condition.
