This absolutely authentic 4-1/8 x 5-7/8 inch (folds to about 3 x 4 inches) four-page Reichsbank identity document number 08717 was issued on 1 April 1938 to a high level employee named Willi Supplies.

The paragraph on page 2 of this ID requests the assistance of German military forces and police in getting the bearer to his duty station.

Reichsbank identity documents are among the rarest of all Hitler era IDs simply because the German Reichsbank (the national bank) was so deeply involved in the recycling of confiscated assets and gold bullion, and because of its involvement in conspiracies to launder foreign monetary assets through the banks of the French, the Swiss, the Swedes and other collaborators in Europe during World War II. Almost anyone in possession of a Reichsbank identity document “lost” it near the end of the war.
