This is a splendid original 5-1/2 inch (140 mm) round pewter souvenir ashtray from the City of Reichs Party Days - Nürnberg. It was one of several pewter items that attendees at the Nuremberg Rallies could buy and take home as their personal souvenir of the greatest annual get-together in Germany in Nazi times.
Around the outer edges are high relief depctions of the Nazi Zeppelinfeld with the enormous wreath and swastika on top of the Ehrentribune, the Nazi Party Luitpold Arena with its huge eagles and swastikas at each end and three enormous swastka banners in the center, the Fortress Nuremberg, and the Hauptmarkt Platz or Adolf Hitler Square in the city center.
This ashtray shows no evidence that it was ever used as an ashtray. Fine original condition just as some Reichs Party Day attendee brought it home. No dents, no dings, no damage. Weighs 11 ounces (.3 kg).

On each of the four lobes of this ashtray are high relief depictions of city sights including the Germanic Museum, the famous Henkersteg, the Bratwurst Glocklein and a relief of the Schöner Brunnen on the Hauptmarkt Platz or Adolf Hitler Square in the city center. The Schöner Brunnen fountain is flanked by a German eagle on a shield and the Wappen or coat of arms of the city of Nürnberg. In the center of the ashtray is a relief of the medieval fortress of Nuremberg beneath the words BURG-NÜRNBERG.
