Baldur von Schirach Letter to Adolf Hitler
A 1942 FILE COPY OF
A LETTER FROM
GAULEITER VON
SCHIRACH TO
ADOLF HITLER
On 19 December 1942 Gauleiter of Wien (Vienna) and Hitler Youth Leader Baldur von Schirach wrote a letter to Adolf Hitler regarding a student inventor from the town of Hitler’s birth, Braunau am Inn. The rare letter we offer for sale here is Von Schirach’s file copy measuring 8-1/4 x 11-5/8 inches.

Von Schirach wrote the letter to alert the Führer about Michael Mitter, a man who had even gone to the same school as Hitler in Braunau am Inn, and who had engineered a special portable drainage machine in cooperation with a certified engineer named Strohmeyer.

The invention proved very useful during testing by the Oberkommando des Heeres (OKH) and since the invention seemed vital to the Wehrmacht, Von Schirach wanted to let Hitler know about about the man from Braunau who was behind it. The last paragraph says Von Schirach enclosed information and pictures about the portable device.
