This is a nice example of the 6-3/4 x 9-1/2 inch 32-page heavily illustrated softcover guidebook with a beautiful full-color picture painted in 1937 by Alexander Fock below the eagle and swastika of the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler on the cover.

The text and photos provide historical background of the Spanische Hofreitschule or Spanish Riding School in central Vienna and the famous white Lipizzaner horses ridden there.

1942 BOOKLET

This is a good example of the 5-7/8 x 8-3/8 inch 56-page very, very heavily illustrated softcover guidebook by A. Podhajsky, Oberst and Commander of the Spanish Riding School as published by the Spanische Hofreitschule in Wien in 1942. There is a beautifully embossed version of the Alexander Fock painting of a Lipizzaner horse and rider on the front cover and a full-page, full-color reproduction of the 1937 painting opposite the title page.

The text of this book is filled with full-color and black & white pictures of the Spanish Riding School and the white Lipizzaner horses ridden there.
