This is a very good example of the rare 7 x 10-1/2 inch, 100+ page very heavily illustrated hardcover book Von der SdP zur NSDAP (From The Sudeten German Party to the Nazi Party) by Sudetenland Gau Propaganda Leader Franz Höller and published in 1939 by Adam Kraft Verlag of Karlsbad and Leipzig.
A brief ten page text is followed by 112 pages of large, clear photographs not found elsewhere that carefully depict the history of the pro-German Sudetendeutsches movement in Czechoslovakia from 1933 right through the German annexation of the provinces of Bohemia and Moravia in March 1939.
There are remarkable photographs of the key players in the German annexation such as Reichskommissar Konrad Henlein, Adolf Hitler, SS General and Nazi Diplomat Reichsprotektor Konstantin von Neurath, Hans Krebs, Rudolf Hess, Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, Hermann Göring, Reichsminister Bernard Rust, Karl Hermann Frank, nameless Freikorps men and even SS and Police General Reinhard Heydrich.
Czechoslovakia had been formed as a country out of parts of Germany and other countries after World War I, and the Sudeten (ethnic) Germans living there had been anxious for years to be reunified within Adolf Hitler’s German Third Reich. This rare book records that reunification in the style of more common Heinrich Hoffmann photo books.
