1944

This is a unique original Nazi era identity document for an employee of the huge Berlin electronics company that manufactured everything from table radios to parts for the Messerschmitt Me262 and the V2 rocket.

This particular photo identity document is unusual in that it is laminated in stiff, clear plastic, the only Nazi era ID we have seen that is made that way.
Nazi Telefunken ID 2
Papers Please! The 3 x 4 inch card is Telefunken identity document number 440542 in the name of Margarete Sporn of the Radio Department in Berlin-Zehlendorf, Germany. It is dated 5 September 1944, during a period when Berlin was being heavily bombed on almost a daily basis by the United States Army 8th Air Force.

The back side information on this identity document is pretty much the usual Defense Plant stuff. Unique and in very good condition.

This rare document is from the collection of Ray & Josephine Cowdery, authors of the full-color Third Reich identity document guidebook, Papers Please!
