NAZI TELLERMINE ANTI - TANK MINE

A GERMAN TELLER MINE ANTI-TANK LAND MINE
FROM WORLD WAR II
The word ,,Teller’’ in German can be used to refer to any object in the shape of a plate (dish) or disc and thus the standard German Wehrmacht anti-tank landmine T.Mi. was commonly called a Teller mine. We offer one here.
It is 12.4 inches (31 cm) in diameter and 3.2 inches (8 cm) thick, with a convex top and a flat bottom; a carrying handle is provided on one side. Total weight of a Teller mine was about 19 pounds, most of which was TNT (ours in empty and weighs about 7 pounds). The ignition assembly was located in the center of the top and operated by a direct pressure of from 175 pounds at the edge to 420 pounds at the center. The mine was provided with threaded sockets on the side and base for the insertion of additional detonators, which could be used for connecting instantaneous fuses to other mines, or for detonating the mine by means of trip wires, movement, etc. Nazi land mine
Teller mines were normally buried from 2 - 4 inches below the surface. When utilized as hasty obstacles, they could be connected by pressure bars to form a continuous obstacle which would detonate under pressure applied to any part of it.

This example of a Teller mine contains no explosives and has been marked on the back by its American liberators “DUMMY” in removable yellow ink. This mine is perfect for a German field gear or weapons display, or as an accessory to any vintage military vehicle. Very good original condition.
