| All ten cards bear a special green 10 April 1938 Volksabstimmung 6 Reichspfennigs postage stamp and are addressed to one Norbert Frischer in Wien.
The cards for Vorarlberg, Salzburg, Steiermark, Oberösterreich and Braunau were each mailed and postmarked in Bregenz, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Graz, Linz and Braunau respectively. The others were mailed in Wien and all bear a cancelation that proclaims the Anschluß. Individual cards from this historic Third Reich postcard set are rare and complete sets are almost never encountered. The Braunau card in this set appears on page 65 of the book Hitlers Heimatland by Ray & Josephine Cowdery, and this set is from the collection of the authors. Very good condition. |
