This is an original Third Reich Wehrdienst-Merkbuch, an almanac-style publication made to fit into the breast pocket of a German soldier’s uniform. It has a summary of the most important military rules and regulations, as well as illustrated information about ranks, marching, formations, weapons, reading maps, constellations (for navigation), financial support for the family of servicemen, medals and orders and how to wear them while in uniform.

This original 4-1/8 x 5-3/4 inch, 48-page softcover Wehrdienst-Merkbuch was never used. The spaces on page 3 for personal information of the soldier, his Feldpost number and home address are blank. The last page has room for notes and that page is also blank.

It was saved flat and away from light since the end of World War II and as a result it is in very crips, unused condition, not at all faded! This is rare as used ones often are in rough shape due to breast pocket wear. No odor.
