This lot consists of ten original issues of the 6-1/2 x 9 inch, 40 - 48 page well-illustrated Nazi magazine Wille und Macht - Führerorgan der Nationalsozialistischen Jugend (Determination and Might - Leadership Magazine of the National Socialist Youth), as published by Baldur von Schirach between 1937 and 1943.
Each issue typically contains a main article on some important theme as well as a photo section (some in color) featuring people, scenery, art, architecture, etc.
Foreign politics is well covered and there are reviews of new books, stage and film productions, and advertising for products ranging from guns to musical instruments and books. The theme of one issue might be “Russians” while another issue might feature “motherhood” or “the East”.
Of special interest to those researching the Hitler Youth is the special 20 page insert in the 15 February 1939 issue which covers a seminar for Hitlerjugend leaders at the Hochschule für Politik. It explains the information to be covered at the seminar from racial matters to history. A section of the booklet is devoted to a detailed description and prices of items to be used for seminars. Those items range from maps and globes to movie projectors, film strip projectors, projection screens and even photographic books published by the SS.
The Wille und Macht issues in this lot are: #23 and #24 of 1937, #4, #6 and #19 of 1939, #22 of 1940, #5, #6 and #9 of 1942 and #4 or 1943. Very good condition.
