The books we offer here are typical, but very hard to find joke books published between 1938 and 1943. They are of precisely the sort that would have been found in the Tornister or backpack of an average Wehrmacht or Waffen-SS soldier, sailor or airman.

The name ,,Aus Scheibls Witzkiste’’ means “From Scheibl’s Joke Box” and each book is stuffed full of funny reading material and several cartoons. The books numbered One and Two are the earliest, from 1938. They measure about 3 x 4-1/2 inches and contain 130 pages each. The books were published by Friedrich Scheibl Verlag in Berlin and Wien (Vienna).
Nazi Jokes
The books numbered Six and Ten were also published by Scheibl under the Witzkiste name in 1942 and 1943 respectively. They measure about 4 x 5-3/4 inches and contain 64 pages each. The jokes, gags and cartoons are as funny today as they ever were!
