This is a rare 1933 edition of the huge 9 x 11-5/8 inch, 380 page very heavily illustrated linen bound hardcover book Deutsche Zeitenwende vom Nationalismus zum Nationalsozialismus (Political Change in Germany - from Nationalism to National Socialism) which contains rare Ernst Röhm material not found in other editions.

IMPORTANT: while the cover of this 89 year old Nazi book looks somewhat rough, the contents itself is in very good used condition. The book is complete with a tight spine and it has no odor.

Divided into three main sections Deutsche Zeitenwende starts with historical information about the many different areas of Germany, followed by the difficult years after World War I (inflation, the unfairness of the Treaty of Versailles, reparations in metallic gold, poverty), and then all the positive changes as a result of the success of the National Socialist or Nazi government are highlighted.

This rare 1-½ inch thickThird Reich book was dedicated to Adolf Hitler and his Brown Army and the subtitle highlights the subject perfectly: A Book about the German Road from Bright High Points, through Dark Nights, to a New Rise. It is a 5-½ pound (!) treasure trove of early Nazi photographs and illustrations, many of them not found in any other Nazi era or post-war publications.

This 1933 edition of Deutsche Zeitenwende starts with a fine full-page portrait of Adolf Hitler and throughout the book there are additional splendid full-page line art portraits of Hauptmann Hermann Göring, Oberstleutnant Ernst Röhm, Dr. Frick, Heinrich Himmler, Gottfried Feder, Dr. Goebbels, Georg von Detten (killed during the Night of the Long Knives), Hans Schemm, Martin Mutschmann, General v. Epp, Alfred Rosenberg, and Manfred von Killinger, most of them by German artist Franz Rowland.

There are rare photos of Hitler on the campaign trail all over Germany, German citizens dealing with unemployment and living in poverty due to the Treaty of Versailles, Eastern European Jewish immigrants, the Standarten at the Braunes Haus, SA formations, National Socialist Gautreffen in many cities, Hitler’s Haus Wachenfeld on the Obersalzberg, Hitler’s birthplace Braunau, Hitler Youth boys, Hitler attending funerals of murdered Nazi ‘fighters’ during the Kampfzeit, Nazi rallies, and of course photos taken on 21 March 1933 at Potsdam, the official start of Hitler’s National Socialist government in Germany. There are also heavily illustrated pages about Nazi martyrs Albert Leo Schlageter and Horst Wessel.

This 89 year old hardcover Nazi photo book was published by Max Krebs for Völkischer Verlag M. O. Groh of Dresden and printed by Firma Emil Hermann of Leipzig in 1933. It is complete and in good used condition with a tight spine and no odor.

Deutsche Zeitenwende vom Nationalismus zum Nationalsozialismus contains many nationalistic poems, song lyrics and illustrations throughout the book, as well as full-page color pictures of the Panzerkreuzer Bismarck in Kiel harbor, the Ludwig Fahnenkrog painting "The Fatherland", and a fine Georg Koch rendering of German Infantry at Tannenberg in August 1914.
