Adolf-Hitler-Marsch der deutschen Jugend (Adolf Hitler March of the German Youth) is a very rare Third Reich photo book published by Zentralverlag der NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachfolger, the Nazi Party Publishing House in Munich in 1939. It tells and shows the story of groups of Hitler Youth boys and their leaders marching from all parts of Germany to the City of Nazi Party Days, Nuremberg. Once there, they were greeted by HJ Leader Baldur von Schirach and the highlight was of course, the Vorbeimarsch or review by Adolf Hitler during the 1938 Reichsparteitag Großdeutschland.

The photo content in this hardcover book is both unique and fantastic! Many close-ups of serious, Germanic looking young men in uniform marching and saluting, Hitler Youth flags, HJ drums, field gear, in front of the Feldherrnhalle in Munich, being greeted by happy Aryan children and women en route to Nürnberg, tired participants being fed by local families, even a young woman with a HJ pin on her dress sewing a Hitlerjugend armband on to a uniform.

After a foreword by Reichsjugendführer Baldur von Schirach there is a 3-page introduction by Gebietsführer der HJ Kley, the man in charge of coordinating the marching HJ groups from all over Germany. The text consists of short impressions and diary excerpts from 16 - 20 year old HJ participants from all different areas of Hitler’s Reich to participate in the Adolf Hitler Marsch of 1938 to Nürnberg - young men from the Königsberg area in Gebiet Ostland, marching units from Gebiet Berlin, Gebiet Kurmark, Hamburg, Saarpfalz, Ruhr-Niederrhein, Sachsen, Westmark, and many other places.

Of course there are also photos of HJ boys with Baldur von Schirach after their arrival in Nürnberg, the review passing by Adolf Hitler (with Rudolf Hess and Von Schirach) on the balcony of the Deutsche Hof Hotel in Nuremberg (photo below), and during Reichsparteitag Grossdeutschland.

The book Adolf-Hitler-Marsch der deutschen Jugend ends with a chapter on Landsberg am Lech where Adolf Hitler wrote Mein Kampf during his imprisonment after the failed 1923 Putsch. The town had become a National Socialist pilgrimage destination and was included in many of the HJ marches on the way to or from Nuremberg. The impressions of the HJ members who visited Cell 7 in Landsberg Prison are very interesting!

This example of Adolf-Hitler-Marsch der deutschen Jugend has the classic brown-shirt color linen cover with embossed silver blocking. It is complete and in very nice used condition with the eagle and swastika stamp of the “Leader of the Volksschule” of the town of Föching on the front flyleaf (Föching is a Bavarian hamlet just north of Bad Tölz where the SS Leadership School was located during the Third Reich). Overall this rare 81 year old Nazi photo book is in very nice used condition. No odor

Horst Kerutt of Berlin was responsible for the text, photos and layout of this 7-1/4 x 10-3/8 inch, 108-page hardcover book which was printed by M. Müller & Sohn of Munich. It has an Index of the chapters and all of the photos at the back.
