Deutsches Jungvolk in der Hitler Jugend (DJ) was a part of the Hitler Youth in Nazi Germany for boys aged 10 to 14. Hitler Youth books are difficult to find 75+ years after the end of the Third Reich because like SS material, Hitler Youth material was targeted for destruction by Allied de-Nazification programs in Germany.

Jungvolklager Lützow by Hannsrudolf Günther is a rare original Third Reich Hitler Youth children’s book with fine illustrations by Willi Engelhardt. The 5 x 7-½ inch, 112 page hardcover book has chapters about adventures of young Deutsches Jungvolk boys during their time at “DJ Camp Lützow”, such as marching, camping, sports, bonfires, etc. There are poems and song lyrics such as Flamme Empor!, Deutschland, Deutschland über alles, Die Fahne hoch, etc.

This HJ-Kinderbuch was published in 1935 by Franz Schneider Verlag of Berlin, and unlike most other Nazi school books or Third Reich children’s books, it is in very good, little used condition without any writing in it. The spine is tight and the 85 year old book has no odor.
