This is a rare original Third Reich identity document and service book from Organisation Todt, the Dr. Fritz Todt construction organization that built fortifications along the German-French frontier (Westwall) and the Atlantic coast (Atlantikwall), U-Boot bunkers, and later in the war bunkers north and east of Berlin to defend the capital from the Russian threat. It is a very desirable example of an OT Dienstbuch in that it was issued to a 20 year old woman, Christa Teller, born 24 February 1923 at Kreuzburg in Silesia (Schlesien, now in Poland). It was issued by Organisation Todt Zentrale Berlin on 16 April 1943.
The book is made more desirable by the fact that it also includes Christa Teller's 12-page Besoldigungsblatt (Pay Record Book) as well as an Organisation Todt Berechnung der Vergütung (compensation form) dated 12 February 1944 when Teller was working with a unit constructing defensive tank positions at Hochwalde in Pomerania (now Wysoka in Poland).
The Dienstbuch contains information about Teller's furloughs during her service in the OT, one to work in the forest in 1943 and another for Christmas of 1944. An interesting entry on page 29 (above) shows she was issued a service wristwatch on 30 October 1943.
If you are looking for more than an ordinary Organisation Todt Dienstbuch this is a highly unusual example in better than average condition since it was not carried in a uniform pocket.
