This is a real nice complete original example of the heavily illustrated 1937 calendar of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR or German State Railway), the largest commercial enterprise in the world at that time. Not only did the Deutsche Reichsbahn own the railways and the Reichsautobahn highway system in Germany, it was also a major player in hotels, banking and other businesses in and outside of Germany.

The last page in the book (card stock) has a full 1937 and 1938 calendar and is interestingly marked "Printed in Germany". Clearly, the Reichsbahn expected to send some of these calendars out of the country. There is a loop of cord on the back from which the calendar can be hung.

Each picture has an excellent caption. Below each picture are spaces for 1 to 3 calendar days with important historical information.
There are several photos of Nazi Führer Adolf Hitler with his head out the window of a railway passenger car and with admirers. Of course, Hitler's picture is shown on his birthday, 20 April.

This 6-1/4 x 10-1/4 inch, 1937 Deutscher Reichsbahn Kalender has a full-color cover featuring one of Deutsche Reichsbahn's trains amidst a snowy Rhine river valley. Each of the 150+ pages has an interesting picture of German Railways, the Reichsautobahn, Reichsbahn personnel or equipment, Wehrmacht troops and equipment on trains (Militärtransportzüge), HJ boys, the railway station at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, food and industrial goods transports, etc., etc.

All the pages are there (in fact, there TWO identical pages for September 26th!).

None of the pages are loose, torn or defaced. We believe the top has been retaped with the correct sort of black tape. Rare when complete and in fine condition as this one is.
