Europa: Handbuch der politischen, wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Entwicklung de neuen Europa is the title of this huge 3 pound well-illustrated Nazi book published in 1943. The title translates as “Europe: Handbook of Political, Economic and Cultural Development of the New Europe” and the huge 9 x 11-¾ inch, 390 page hardcover book has a foreword dated 16 February 1943 by Nazi Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop. The content was assembled by Deutsches Institut für Außenpolitische Forschung, the German Institute for Foreign Political Research.
In his foreword, Joachim von Ribbentrop states that “egotistical British power politics” have divided Europe for hundreds of years and that during World War II they have aligned themselves with the arch enemy of Europe, the Soviet Union. The Nazi Foreign Minister predicts Russian dominance would mean the end of England’s control over Europe. He goes on to say that to prevent this terrible destiny for Europe, Germany, Italy and its allies have expelled England and “other enemies of the New Order” from the European continent.
While the battle in the East against the Bolshevist enemy continues, and Japan has been successful in removing the Americans and British from East Asia, Germany, Italy and its allies are looking to the future. After the end of the battle on the European continent, “a new peaceful Europe without outside influence will rise with ample time to blossom”. |
