This is an original, unused Nazi Feldpost book about one of Adolf Hitler's favorite painters, Caspar David Friedrich, frequently called "the German master of the 19th-century romantic landscape".

The 5-¾ x 7-¾ inch, 32-page high-quality book is inside the original Third Reich Feldpost mailer which has a space for a mailing address on the back cover, and space for a Gruß aus der Heimat, greetings from home, on the other side of that panel of the mailer.

Verlag Der eiserne Hammer of Leipzig published many of these special Feldpost books incorporated in mailers, about children, nature, architecture, famous German painters, writers and musicians.

The work of famous German landscape painter Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840) is the subject of this book. It has an introductory text by Johannes Beer and 30 - mostly color - pictures of the beautiful paintings by Caspar David Friedrich. Each image has the title of the painting under it, as well as the museum in which it is on display.

It is rare to find an unused example of Third Reich Feldpost books, and this one is in splendid condition!
