1942 Hitler visit to Finland
Nordlicht 1942
Hitler HQ Rastenburg
Most people are aware that after the Soviet invasion of Finland early in World war II, Finland allied itself with Nazi Germany. German Chancellor Adolf Hitler visited Finland at the beginning of June 1942 to visit German Wehrmacht troops deployed there, to become more familiar with the personalities of the Finnish government and to celebrate the 74th birthday of Marschal C.G. Mannerheim. For his birthday, Hitler presented Mannerheim with a Grosser Mercedes-Benz car similar to the one Hitler used himself.
Nordlicht (Northern Light) magazine was published by Pressedienst Finlandia in Helsinki and this Issue I of Volume 2 covers Hitler’s visit and other subjects in German in substantial depth. The 8-1/4 x 11-3/4 inch, heavily illustrated 72 page magazine has articles about Finnish military uniforms, Generals Talvela, Oesch, Airo and Tuompo, an article on the area Karelien, wooden churches in Finland, and the visit of Marschall Mannerheim to the Führerhauptquartier at Rastenburg in East Prussia.

There is display advertising in the magazine for Finnish companies like Fiskars, Sandberg, Stockfors, Karhula-IIttala, GHH, Stockmann, Tukkukauppojen, etc.

Very good original condition.
Also for sale on usmbooks.com, the Third Reich photo book
"How Finland Fights".
