On this USMBOOKS web page we are offering two original Third Reich images of Adolf Hitler. These are genuine glossy photos made from a negative and printed on Agfa postcard-type photo paper during the Third Reich. Buy one or both at the same time at a discounted price.

Many Third Reich postcard collectors are familiar with rubber stamps added to the back of photographic postcards to show where they were purchased as a souvenir (near the Berghof on the Obersalzberg, for example). This 3-3/8 x 5-1/2 inch (85 x 140 mm) image has the oval purple stamp of Strandhotel zur schönen Aussicht (Beach Hotel with the Beautiful View) on the back and is printed from a negative on standard German Agfa postcard photo paper.
An internet search revealed that Adolf Hitler visited the beach hotel in Horumersiel-Schillig on the Northsea coast on 11 June 1936, after it has been a campaign headquarters during the 1932 elections. The hotel is still in business today and is a gastronomical destination in northern Germany.
HITLER SAILING - 1936
The photo shows Hitler in mufti on a sailboat at sea, with members of his entourage. It could be that hotel owner Fritz Tiarks (mentioned on the hotel stamp) is one of the men. Kept as a souvenir by a hotel guest, no writing, in very nice condition, exactly as shown.
The image shows Hitler joking with members of the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD or Nazi Labor Service) but behind him there is also a tall smiling man in an SS uniform wearing a black visor cap with a Totenkopf on it. Hitler’s boots have mud on them, as do the boots of the RAD men surrounding him in the forest setting. Further research may suggest this photo was taken at the Wolfsschanze or at another field headquarter, we do not know. |
