This is an excellent example of the very rare 1943 hardbound book Kroatien baut auf, Zweite Jahreslese in Wort und Bild aus des Wochenschrift "Neue Ordnung" (The Reconstruction of Croatia, a Recap of Two Years in Words and Pictures from the Weekly Magazine "The New Order") as published by Europa Verlag Naklada Europa Edizione in Zagreb.
The 9 x 11-3/4 inch, 172 page book begins with a full-page portrait of Croatian leader Dr. Ante Pavelic, and explains the good fortune of the Croatian people to be a part of the German creation of a New Europe.
It explains the difficulties encountered in recent history for Croatian people to extricate themselves from the mess in Yugoslavia in the wake of the destruction of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of World War I. There is a chapter on Croatia and the Islamic World, examples of Croatian art and literature, architecture, etc. Dubrovnik, the Pearl of the Adriatic, is shown and explained as are the Croatian people and their unique abilities. Croatian soldiers of the Kroatische Legion are shown fighting near Stalingrad and in the field with Italian soldiers fighting for a New Europe.
There is a history of Germanic people in Croatia and an explanation of Croatia's future as seen from the German perspective during the Third Reich.
