This is a very nice example of a single piece from a Third Reich era German Luftwaffe dinner service set. It is a large dinner fork measuring 21 cm (8-1/4 inches) from the tip of the tines to the tip of the handle.
Stamped in the area usually reserved for a monogram is a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika in its talons, flanked by the letters BK for Berlin Kasino.

In the center of the backside of the handle is the stamped logo of Arthur Krupp of Berndorf, and the numbers 45 and 90, each in a square. We have included a photo of the logo above. |

The Krupp firm was a major manufacturer of very high quality silverware for the Nazi Party, the German government and armed forces (Wehrmacht) during the Third Reich. They manufactured silverware for Adolf Hitler, Hermann Göring, Josef Goebbels, Heinrich Himmler, the SS and many other Nazi institutions. It is not surprising that they made this piece for the Berlin Kasino of the Luftwaffe in Hermann Görings Air Ministry on Wilhelmstraße in Berlin.
We actually purchased this piece within a few blocks of the old Reichsluftfahrtministerium in Berlin about 15 years ago. It is in very good condition.
Have a look at other pieces of Third Reich silverware for sale on our website.
