This is a very nice embossed dark blue linen hardcover edition of the Jahrbuch der deutschen Luftwaffe 1937 (Year Book of the German Air Force). The book has 92 photos, a mission statement by Generalfeldmarschall Werner von Blomberg and foreword by Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe, Generalfeldmarschall Hermann Goering and was published by Hauptmann Dr. Kürbs for the Reichsluftfahrtministerium.
The chapters are written by Luftwaffe officers and cover varied subjects such as different career options in the Luftwaffe, Kampfgeschwader General Wever, tasks of the Flakartillerie, Luftwaffe pilot exhibition days, air raid protection, Luftwaffe communication troops, foreign air forces, Flak installations on the Baltic Coast, Wehrmacht participation in the 1936 Olympic Games,Luftwaffe medical officer training, Flugzeugführer Paul Lindenhahn, Luftwaffe uniforms, and more.
The first photo(above) in the 6-3/4 x 9-1/2 inch, 144 page book is a rare one of Die Oberbefehlshaber der Wehrmacht - the heads of all branches of German Armed Forces chatting with each other. Other photos show the new Reichsluftfahrtministerium or Air Ministry in Berlin, the opening of the Technical Air Academy at Berlin-Gatow, the Richthofen Geschwader flying in formation above the ‘free’ Rhineland, a Luftwaffe radio truck and equipment, Luftwaffe reconnaissance planes, Luftwaffe sea planes, Russian, French, British, Italian and American air force planes, Luftwaffe General Erhard Milch and Luftwaffe athletes at the 1936 Olympics (right), the new Luftwaffe Sport School at Spandau, Luftwaffe insignia, Tag der Luftwaffe, Hermann Goering at the funeral of Generalleutnant Walther Wever, FLAK installations, and Nazi machine gunners parachuting over the Harvest Day celebrations at the Bückeberg (shown at the top of this USMBOOKS web page).

This Jahrbuch der deutschen Luftwaffe 1937 was printed by Verlag von Breitkopf & Härtel in Leipzig, and is complete and in very nice little-used condition with a tight spine and no odor. The name of the original owner is stamped on the front flyleaf, and a dedication shows he received it as a Christmas present from his aunt Annie.
