The splendid original all wool 39 x 39 inch (100 x 100 cm) Führerstandarte that we offer here is in very nice used condition. The colors are bright, there is very little wear, but there are several pin-head size holes that could easily be repaired if desired. There is a 2-loop rope sewed into the white reinforcement along the hoist edge. Both corners of the hoist edge of the flag are reinforced as are the corners of the fly edge of this Nazi flag.
Both sides of the flag display a wreath of golden oak leaves in a 21 inch white circle with a huge outlined black swastika centered in it. The reverse of the flag has Stand. d. Führers Gr. 2 100/100 printed on it in 3/4 inch letters on the white reinforcement on the hoist edge. Stand. d. Führers Gr.2 100/100 is the German abbreviation for Standarte des Führers Größe 2 (Standard of the Führer Size 2) and 100/100 is the size of the flag in centimeters.
Also written on an embroidered label sewed to the white reinforcement on the hoist edge of the front side is the name Würtemmbergische Cattunmanufactur Heidenheim a. Brz., a very large and important manufacturer of Nazi flags during the Third Reich.
Many collectors are familiar with an embroidered version of the Führerstandarte, that was not flown but hung or displayed in interior venues like the opera and at Reichs Party Day when the Führer was present. Few collectors have ever seen a Third Reich German exterior flag style Führerstandarte, and fewer yet have ever seen one in this nice condition.
A very rare and historic piece in truly fine condition with the minor exception of the pin-head size holes mentioned above, which could probably be undetectably repaired.
