This is a fine original two-sided 1938 map of München, die Hauptstadt der Bewegung or Munich, the Capital of the Nazi Movement. It measures 18-½ x 20 inches, and the scale is 1:12,500 making it the perfect map for research on National Socialist Munich or to prepare any visitor for an upcoming trip to this historic city.

We have added red numbers on our pictures (NOT on the map itself!) to point out important sights related to the NSDAP and the Third Reich and to show how little distance there was between them.

Number 1 is Hitler’s office in the Führerbau, number 2 is the NSDAP Braunes Haus, number 3 is the Nazi Party Verwaltungsbau or administration building, number 4 is the main railway station, number 5 is the Karlstor on one end of the old town (now a pedestrian zone), number 6 is the Feldherrnhalle on the Odeonsplatz, number 7 is the House of German Art, number 8 is Prinzregentenplatz where Hitler’s spacious Munich apartment was located, number 9 points towards the Delpstrasse where Eva Braun’s villa was located.

Number 10 is the Oberwiesenfeld surrounded by military barracks (shown left). Oberwiesenfeld was also the location of the old Munich airport used by Hitler before the new Flughafen at Riem was built and where the Olympic Stadium and Olympic village was built for the infamous 1972 Olympic Games.

This fine Nazi map also shows the Burgerbräukeller, the beer hall on Rosenheimerstrasse where the 1923 Nazi Putsch started, the Deutsches Museum, the Theresienwiese where Oktoberfest was / is held, as well as many other famous landmarks.

The back has the index to every street, square, important sight and public building on this map making it perfect for research and trip planning. Printed by the Woerl’s publishing house in Leipzig, this 1938 map was laminated by a previous owner to preserve it. As a result, it is in wonderful condition.
