The Third Reich ephemera in this lot belonged to Josef Purkert, a man born on 26 October 1888 in Reichenberg in Sudetenland (now Liberec in the Czech Republic). He was an enthusiastic National Socialist, worked for the Victoria Insurance Company, was married to Else Purkert (née Schmidt) and the father of one daughter and two sons.
The large 11-¼ x 8-¼ inch, 8-panel fold-out Stammbuch or family register included in this lot provides a lot of background information on Josef Purkert: he was a World War I veteran, a member of a gymnastics club, and had joined the SdP (the Nazi Party in Sudetenland) on 21 March 1938, the very day the Sudetenland became part of Nazi Germany. On 1 November 1938 the SdP was incorporated into the NSDAP and he received party number 6.767.333.
Purkert officially swore allegiance to Adolf Hitler was was given his rare oath certificate on 1 May 1940. He became a Blockleiter on 18 November 1941 as part of NSDAP Ortsgruppe Reichenberg II Bahnhof Gau Sudetenland.
Also included in this 6-piece Third Reich ephemera lot is an official 4-panel extract from the Strafregister dated 10 February 1942, which shows Josef Purkert had no criminal record.

The material in this grouping was neatly stored in a two-ring binder and is in very nice condition. The lot comes with an extra, unused ID photo of Josef Purkert with his Hitler mustache.
