ARMORED VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION

This is a set of 47 original Nazi 35mm black & white film slides mounted in glass and measuring about 2 inches square. There is a single title slide, and 47 other slides with transparencies of German, Russian, American and British tanks and other armored vehicles. They were intented to be projected on to a screen or wall.

The title slide identifies the set in German as ,,Panzerkennungsdienst Teil 2 Erkennung Glasbildreihe 145b - Herausgegeben von OKH Chef Ausb. / Abt. Lehrfilm’’ (Glassbound Slide Set 145b - Tank Identification Service - Published by the Army High Command, Training Commander, Instructional Film Detachment, Part 2). Each slide has a printed frame with the series and slide number and crediting the Army Film and Picture Archive for the image.

The images to be projected on the screen are excellent - genuine, sharp film positive pictures of fronts, sides and backs of armored vehicles with the background removed and the name of the vehicle in German. Note that in German the name on slide 19 is ,,Schermann’’ not “Sherman”! The slide numbers and descriptions are as follows:

Slides listed as cracked have only one of the two glass sides cracked. It is an easy matter to remove the cracked glass, replace it and retape the edge.

Inspite of the missing slides, this is very rare original Wehrmacht training material from the years of the Third Reich in Germany. Nice original condition.
