This is an absolutely authentic 8 x 11 inch (20 x 28 cm) blackened oak wooden wall plaque with a 7 inch (17.5 cm) tall plated metal bust of Adolf Hitler bolted to it. It has a standard, typical German triangular metal hanger attached to the top of the back. At one time this plaque had an engraved metal name or presentation plate affixed to it, but the plate has been removed. Only the faint 1 x 2-3/8 inch (25 x 60 mm) outline of the name plate is still visible.
The metal plating on the Hitler likeness is very similar to the artistic silver finish used on the scabbards and metal parts of German Army and Luftwaffe daggers of the period.

The deep relief likeness of the left side of Adolf Hitler's face is made from bright plated silver metal, and the plaque on which it is mounted is a very typical German blackened (not painted) hardwood type. The two mounting studs have nuts that can be seen on the back side and appear to be original and old. The Hitler relief HAS NOT been refinished or messed with in any way - and its has 100% of its original, wear and old patina. The black coloring of the plaque is also 100% original to the time it was made, and nobody has touch it up or fixed it since 1945. It weighs just over 2 pounds.
This is an especially accurate likeness of Germany's 23rd Chancellor, and it is a very desirable piece from the Nazi era, and NOT a reproduction of any kind! We purchased it in Germany years ago after it was found and sold to a German militaria collector. A very rare likeness in far better than average condition except for the missing name plate.
