This is a very rare example of a highly specialized, heavily illustrated First Edition book on the famous Kroatische Legion or Croatian Legion of the Luftwaffe that fought with distinction on the East Front during World War II. The 8 x 10-1/2 inch, 144 page book "U" Über der Ostfront (Ustascha Over the East Front) was written by Gerhard Rauchwetter and was published by Europa-Verlag in Zagreb in 1943 in the German language.
We have included among our pictures the complete Index for the text of the book so that interested parties have a much better idea of the content. The last half of the book is entirely photos and captions - remarkable photographs of the Legion's heroes, their equipment and living conditions and the sacrifices they made as part of the Nazi Luftwaffe over Russia during World War II.
A very rare book in very good condition throughout. The original dust jacket shows wear along its top and bottom borders. We have never seen another and never expect to see another.
