This is a nice example of the rare 3-7/8 x 5-3/4 inch, 440 page heavily illustrated hard cover ,,Deutscher Polizei Kalender 1939’’ (German Police Calendar 1939) as published for the Kameradschaft deutscher Polizeibeamten in Berlin by Kommunalschriften Verlag J. Jehle in Berlin, Germany in September 1938.

Following 64 pages of index and calendars, there is a special 24 page section of full-color plates depicting police, army and Luftwaffe uniforms, helmets, visor caps and insignia as well as specialized Nazi flags from the SA and Führer Standard to those of the Hitler Youth (HJ) and the Reichsminister of Aviation.

The text contains an explanation of the relationship between the police and the Führer, the Treulied (Oath of Allegiance) of the SS, the organization of the police in Germany under the structure of the SS, nationality laws, the NSDAP party program, and recaps of many other laws that a policeman might find useful.

The book contains in-depth information about police pay groups, ranks and promotions, taxes, uniforms and uniform allowances, weapons, the SS / police sword and service in units such as the Sicherheitsdienst or SD, Kriminalpolizei or Kripo, Geheime Staatspolizei or Gestapo, etc. The book contains advertising for police related products such as pistols, typewriters, daggers, dogs, flashlights, visor caps, medals and orders, etc.
