This is a beautifully printed 4-page folio measuring 8 x 11-1/4 inches which includes a photo mounted on a heavy gray sheet, that was produced for Totengedenktag or Memorial Day on 9 November 1944. The folio has a very poignant quotation from Adolf Hitler on the front cover with a metaphor about leaves falling from trees.
Inside there is a long quotation on the left from Nazi Propaganda Minister Dr. Joseph Goebbels explaining the fight to victory and on the right is an essay by a German mother about death. The back of the folio contains the words "The Mothers and Wives of Our Fallen Soldiers on Memorial Day 9 November 1944" above a spray of oak and laurel leaves and the handwritten name of the widow, Frau Henrich of Karlstrasse 55.
Included in the folio is a gray sheet with an original photograph of a handsome Nazi soldier in his best uniform with a beautifully styled Schirmmütze or visor cap. The photo of the fallen man is enclosed in a green laurel frame above a grey Iron Cross with a swastika in the center.
This is easily the nicest Memorial Day folio we have ever seen and it is in excellent original condition.
