The enthusiasm with which the Bulgarian population welcomed the German Wehrmacht troops, Luftwaffe successes in the Mediterranean, military advances by the Italian army in Greece, are also covered.
Other related articles relate to the addition of Bulgaria to the Dreimächtepakt (the German-Italian-Japanese Axis), and a photo shows Nazi Foreign Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop, Italian Foreign Minister Count Ciano, Japanese Ambassador Oshima and Bulgarian Prime Minister Bogdan Dimitrov Filov signing the official Three Power Pact at Schloss Belvedere in Vienna. The front page of the 14 x 20 inch Nazi newspaper has all the latest news on the Wehrmacht invasion of Bulgaria which had started on 2 March 1941. The main front cover article states that Bulgaria agreed to become Germany’s ally to secure itself against “recently revealed British actions in southeastern Europe”.

This 3 March 1941 edition of the Bayerische Zeitung, filled with historic World War II news is in remarkable condition for its age. age. It has been stored flat and away from sunshine since the end of the Third Reich. Nothing has been cut out, it has no tape, no odor and is still completely flexible. Rare!
